Mosque

A mosque near the Minstry of Chambers (I had posted yesterday). There are many, many... many,...... many Mosques in Kuwait. Infact every 800 meters you will find a Mosque. Some are really beautiful.

5 times a day the Mosques call the faithful for prayers. When you are new to Kuwait it's very disturbing (especially at 4 am!) but you get used to it evenually.

Al-Tijari is the Commercial Bank of Kuwait. This board tells us if we go left we'll get to a branch of the Commercial Bank.

Nice mosque. I like some of the beautiful mosques. We also have a mosque here and can hear prayers throughout the day. It is too loud at times, not just in the morning. I am sure it reaches not just the faithful but to Allah as well....

that is a lovely building. My son who lives near a mosque in Khartoum also says you get so used to it you hardly hear it. I guess it's like people who live near airports or train tracks, and while visitors look wide eyed at the noise, they carry on as if they never noticed it!

Very interesting architecture! That's exactly different one from our mosques here. Soon I am planning to talk about them on my journal as well. In Istanbul all the sounds can be heard just at the same time from a synagogue, a church and a mosque, which is to tell the world our mosaic-like cultural structure:)
