Traffic woes

Clicked this pic on my way home from work. It's not as bad as it looks, though. We were still moving at 20Kph!! ;-)

To answer Red Ink
(based on his comment), although this is the way to the Airport, it is not always busy. Kuwait has a lot of traffic on her roads in the morinings, mid-afternoon (lunch crowd) and evenings (8:30 pm).

Hyderabad Daily Photo wanted to know why some cars have yellow/orange number plates. These are Taxis. The Police car number plates are black. Ordinary folks like us have white number plates.

Most signs are bilingual. Inspite of that, I manage to successfully get lost very often. The speed at which we have to go (minimum 80kph) doesn't give us much of a chance to change our minds or our lanes.

Many institutes have Arabic classes. There are no government programs, as far as I know, that teach Arabic on a free for all basis.

It is better anytime than 2-wheelers and pedestrians darting in front of you from both sides. So at least the traffic looks disciplined.

I noticed that most cars have white plates but some have yellow ones. What is the difference?

BTW, are there classes for foreigners to learn Arabic? I see the signs are bilingual so you can get by without learning Arabic, but I am just curious. I read that in Japan there are classes as well as there are volunteers who help you to learn the language. So I am wondering if there are any government or community programs to help foreigners learn Arabic.

Forgot to mention that almost all your photos have a clear blue sky. That is so nice. Obviously there is no/low pollution. But I noticed that there aren't any clouds.

Thanks for the answers, and for the comments on my blog. I would like to learn Arabic if I get a chance. I have heard that it is a difficult language to learn (the written part).
