This is a corner store or kiosk or, as they call it in Arabic, a "Bakala". ("Bak" rhymes with "Luck", so it's pronounced Bak (as in Luck) -aah-laa) Mostly run by Iranians or South Indians, these `bakalas' have everything you'd need in an Emergency or if you are just too busy or lazy to drive to the Government Cooperatives or private Malls.

Like our corner story, but we wouldnt call it a supermarket.
Character ! Much better than those food barns that are springing up - the worst are those owned by the South Africans and Germans ... particulatly Aldi.
That's a good thing to have around.

Glad to be learning Arabic words. Thanks. BTW, why is there a wash basin outside? There seem to be some ads/notices pasted on the wall there. Interesting to read that foreigners operate those shops.
